Last weekend whale watching, Dana Wharf @ Dana Point becomes BJ's restaurant and Brewhouse 7 tasters.
Star Rating: 9 out of 10 (Fun and exciting beer tasting) Expenses: ~11 dollar (9.95 ++)
This place was recommended by Chris, a US colleague saying that it was pretty good and worth going compared to Malaysia pub and bar that is only 2 choices. (Carlsberg and Tiger Draft)
BJ's - In-house brewing of 7 different type of beers. At first, we were wondering what to order. And, after looking through the menu, we found small little tiny beer tasting mentioned by Chris in menu. So, we all decided to get 7 tasters without 2nd thought.
When the beers come, it was really nice display in 7 colorful, chilled, long shape glasses. (The other group went the following day, they actually give a menu slip underneath 7 glasses, damn, they did not give us) It was fun and exciting looking at 7 different colors of beer arranged nicely in front of you.
Taste fresh and chill, nice environment for chatting which we spent ~3 hours in and left with a bit drunk. We are very satisfied with the beer and environment. Plan to make 2nd trip there with camera for better photo shooting. :)
1. Brewhouse Blonde - Tasted like fresh wheat remained in your mouth, my fourite.
2. HarvestHefeweizen - One of my favourite, it tasted similar to one but stronger in alcohol.
3. Piranha Pale Ale - Like 1 + 2 which i dislike it as 2 different flavours not blended smoothly.
4. BJ's Jeremiah Irish - Red wine tasted beer, a bit too sweet for me.
5. Nutty Brewnette - Brown ale tasted OK with no speciality for in-house.
6. BJ's P.M. Porter - Tasted like Guisness with lighter alcohol feel. OK.
7. Tatonka Stout - Strong fruity alcohol which you will like it most if you like stout.
